New video: Lous and The Yakuza – Dilemme

“La vie est une chienne qu’il faut tenir en laisse / La vie me hante, tout ce qui m’entoure m’a rendu méchante / Si je rate je recommence, quand je suis triste je chante”

These words from Lous’ debut single “Dilemme” are a good insight into her intense universe: Raw emotions in a beautiful soul, strong yet sensitive, both in her words and voice, Lous is woman, an artist, a fighter.

Lous is 23. She grew up between Rwanda and Congo with her parents before heading to Belgium to make her dream of becoming an artist come true. But enduring distressing experiences meant la vie was not so rose there. She built strength and determination in her wounded body and heart. El Guincho (Rosalía) felt this at the very first listen. The mystical artist is not just a one track artist, her stories, voice, tone can speak to a generation – El Guincho was now set to produce the whole album and help Lous shape the incredible toplines and dozens of songs she writes every day.

Recorded between Barcelona, Paris and Brussels, Gore, Lous’ debut album, is a mix of Trap and chanson française, a sincere reflection of her tormented young life. Lous gives hope and strength on our way to resilience: Life is a bitch but is worth living.

First single “Dilemme” out now.
