“The French-born producer’s house-leaning electronics have a painterly touch, with Greg Kozo impacting his character on to everything he touches.”
“Greg Kozo is now out on his own and has crafted an introspective debut album, This Is Not Hollywood. Rooted in an interesting mix of house, vaporwave and techno with soul and post-pop undertones, it’s worth checking out”
Ministry Of Sound
[On “Modular Session # 1” by Greg Kozo and The Toxic Avenger] The result is powerful and the first track is enough to catch you in another world. “A1” is the kind of sound that we put around 4am to keep those who doubt the success of the evening.
“Make The Girl Dance is made up by Pierre Mathieu and Greg Kozo, two Frenchmen known for their catchy electro music and their crazy music videos”
“Spontaneity stands out in this atypical project. Dominated by an obscure and powerful techno, the disc nevertheless offers us an ambient track with “A2” and a few experimental touches close to IDM here and there.”
“Nice moody tracks… Loove Victims”
Atmospheric house producer Greg Kozo has shared the self-directed video for ‘The Story Of Rita Faltoyano’, the title track of his latest EP which was released on the 13th of April via Enchanté Records. Greg Kozo has earned his stripes in the industry, with support from the likes of i-D France, The Fader, Ministry Of Sound, CLASH Magazine, TRAX Mag, TSUGI and Mixmag France to name a few. The producer was one half of the Make The Girl Dance duo which had their debut hit single ‘Baby Baby Baby’ reach Number 26 on the French Top Singles charts and was featured in a Victoria’s Secret commercial and the Guitar Hero 5 video with additional support from Buzzfeed. The producer has toured the globe, visiting the U.S., Asia, Europe to name a few and performing in the noteworthy South by Southwest (SXSW) festival.
Born and based in Paris, France, Greg Kozo draws from his experience as a producer for more than a decade, with a brief stint as a Bass player in funk bands to add flavour. While creating his latest piece of work, Greg Kozo found inspiration in the modern works of Max Cooper, Telepopmusik, Etienne de Crecy, and KiNK. However, The Story Of Rita Faltoyano calls to mind the vibrant works of Kid Francescoli, French 79 and Thylacine.
The brute force of the world is contrasted against passing nightlights and masked faces in the video for Greg Kozo’s latest single. The progressive beat finds itself at home in the swirling underground world as the viewer becomes transfixed in a compassionless world in a mystery city. The florist who created the mask in the video is known for providing the flowers installation at Le Palais de l’Elysée, for the French president, Emmanuel Macron.
Greg Kozo tells us about the creation of the video: “This track always reminds me of somebody falling asleep in a car at night. The video is the start of a story – with these masks made with plants that I’m gonna use as a guideline on the videos for my album to come. I need to think about music and video in the same artistic process, that’s why I direct, film, and cast all my music videos by myself.”
