Biography

Keren Ann Zeidel (born March 10, 1974) is a singer-songwriter-composer, producer and engineer based largely in Paris, Tel-Aviv and New York. She has lived and recorded in France and New York for many years though she retains her Dutch and Israeli citizenship. She has released seven solo records to date: Keren Ann (2007), Nolita (2005), Not Going Anywhere (2003), La Disparition (2002), La Biographie De Luka Philipsen (2000), and 101 (2011). Her seventh album, You’re gonna get love, was released worldwide in 2016.

Many of her songs have been performed by internationally acclaimed artists including Henri Salvador, Jane Birkin, Francoise Hardy, Rosa Passos, Jacky Terasson, Emmanuelle Seigner and Benjamin Biolay. Her music has also been featured in diverse films and TV series (“Grey’s Anatomy”, “Six Feet Under”, …).

She is also a member of the band “Lady & Bird” with Bardi Johannsson. They released a self titled record in 2003 and have worked on diverse composition projects such as a show with the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra in Reykjavik (May 2008) with director Daniel Kawka.

Album, March 2016: You’re Gonna Get Love : Keren Ann is as eclectic as she is international: Anna Calvi, David Byrne, Iggy Pop, Luz Casal, Rosa Pasos, Jane Birkin and Françoise Hardy have covered her songs. She has written and made records with Emmanuelle Seigner and Sylvie Vartan. She also worked on film soundtracks (Thelma, Louise et ChantalYossi) as well as on theater scores (Falling out of Time, adapted from David Grossman), and collaborated with Icelandic musician Bardi Johansson on an album and an opera (Lady & Bird, Red Waters).

For about fifteen years already, Keren Ann’s albums are being leafed through and avidly read, like the pages of a great book. A book that narrates the course of life, its longings and desires, its past loves and its unquenchable passions. A book akin to a personal diary that would also be a universal one. A saga whose seventh volume, You’re Gonna Get Love, is both continuing and renewing.

To write is to leave a trace, the trace of an emotion,” she says. The singer-songwriter demonstrates it once again in You’re Gonna Get Love, the new chapter of her unique and captivating saga. Keren Ann, heart & soul.
