Biography

For about fifteen years, Para One (Jean-Baptiste de Laubier) has been leaving his mark on French electronica. Since his hip-hop beginnings and his part in the TTC adventure (and the Institubes record label), Para One has not worried too much about classifications and genres, wide gaps having been his trademark. He is a solo artist on “Epiphanie” or “Passion”, a cinema composer, a producer of seemingly distant projects for Birdy Nam Nam or Micky Green, a record company boss (the fantastic Marble Music), a director in his spare time, and even an actor, but, more than ever, he is a DJ capable of switching from hip-hop to house or techno, from UK garage to old school vibes and future turbines. Among a thousand projects, Para One is back on the dance floor with “Club”, a new album which was not meant to be one, but believe it or not: it’s serious stuff!

Para One ‘Elevation’ EP Now Available (July 2015)

Para One’s new ‘Elevation’ EP, including remixes from Todd Edwards, GENER8ION & Boston Bun, is now available via France’s Ed Banger Records. This EP, available for free, is the first new material Para One is releasing since signing to Pedro Winter (Ed Banger’s) label, with a featured remix by Gener8ion, the new alias of Surkin.
