Yann Tiersen Shares New Song and Video: “Ker Yegu”

Yann Tiersen today shares new track “Ker Yegu,” the latest taste of what to expect from his forthcoming album, Kerber, out August 27 on Mute.

Directed by Murat Gökmen, who created the mesmerizing live session video for “Poull Bojer,” the video for “Ker Yegu” gives us further insight into the life and people of the Breton island of Ushant that Tiersen calls home. A sense of place has often been a central theme in Tiersen’s work – Kerber is named after a chapel in a small village on the island and each track on the album is tied to a place mapping out the immediate landscape that surrounds Tiersen’s home. But this isn’t an exploration of isolation, more an expression of being conscious of your own direct environment and your place within it; a sonic encapsulation of the hyper-local.

Kerber will be available via a deluxe limited clear vinyl edition with unique artwork housed in a PVC sleeve (1000 available worldwide), limited edition white vinyl with a poster, black vinyl, CD, and digital platforms.

A series of limited edition bundles (including t-shirt, tote bag, sheet music and poster) are available here.
